i get that too in my sump once in a while.. its a whitish film thats on top of the water.
It could either be protein deposits or mineral deposits from your water. This is assuming you dont have substrate..

if you didnt have gravel or sand in your tank/pond. Crushed Corals can produce whitish powder when new..

Thats weird I ve had slime on the top of my water b4, but it eventually went away and I had white foam before and it had white junk that stuck to my tank, but it was due to calcium build up o__o not sure about white stuff that comes out like milk though thats strange.

cmon now calcium doesnt build up in water into slim.

try re-reading what I said I didnt say the slime was calcium... =) I said I had slime before and it eventurally went away AND I had white foam b4 that turned out to be calcium build up..

yep had that slime too, 2 water changes did the trick.

couldnt be calcium though with the foam.
