Since you titled this thread "white sturgeon" I think everyone skipped the scientific name and assumed you meant A. transmontanus which can get well over 10' given enough room...

:) You're right, I did. But still. I agree they should be available, but not so readily. Very few, even here, can provide appropriate housing for fish of that size.

If u type the scientific name into google and read about them they are slow growing and only reach 3ft in 8-10 years this is a hybrid of a white sturgeon commonly called a sterlet they grow slower and dont get as big max size ever recorded is 4ft and after 10 years they grow very slow.

They're not a hybrid of the white sturgeon, but yes, they are much smaller as you said

Sterlet are not hybrid but a smaller European sturgeon species.

i believe liveaquaria's sturgen are farm raised here in the us in the state of Cali., the pic is of a white sturgen which makes me think they got the wrong scientific name

I saw this fish for sale at:
www.liveaquaria.com/

I was just wondering where else i could get this fish i really want one and this breed you could say grow slow so i wanted to buy now and get him started in my 55 gallon tank alone then buy his final tank in about a year. but my problem is i cant find a place that stocks them.

Thanks hope you guys can help!

I really can't see clearly enough from the picture to tell what species the sturgeon on the picture really is. If it is a sterlet and the Latin name is correct then you can probably keep it in a 200 gallon tank. If, on the other hand, it is a white sturgeon then it not only is a huge fish, there are no small species of white sturgeon, then it not only needs a huge pond it also needs cold water. I would call them and ask just what the species is before I bought it.
