Does anyone know what these 1 inch wiggling worms are with a pointed head in my tank? there not on the glass like the small quarter inch size ones some peeps get but there swimming in the water. i posted in here because theres alot more traffic then in the fish disease forums. any ideas would be great thx.

i really dont think you could take a picture of them. there just so small.

Don't feed your fish as much and do frequent water changes and this should help you out. They show up when you tend to over feed your fish and don't change the water enough.:)

Most likely.... this

yeh possibly planaria, although u said not on glass. i had planaria on the glass a few months back. from over feeding done 2 water changes and fed less they went soon. i also managed to eat some swallow some planaria:barf::grinno: didnt harm me or the fish.

ya i do 50 percent water changes every week on all my tanks so it must be a little overfeeding. you said you swallowed them? eww. siphoned them right up in your mouth huh?

they come from an abundance of nutrients in the water..... overfeeding or dirt conditions.... i took on some worm from my fry babies.... i tryed the liquid fry crap and presto insta wormo... add copper to the water in small portions gradualy dont exceed the proper limit.... after a week start doing huge gravel vacs take all of your wood out and reboil and do huge water changes... they are tough to get rid of but will not harm your fish....

Like others have said it sounds like too much nutrients in the water. Focus on less feeding and sweeping the gravel with water changes until they are gone.
