sounds like a planarium bloom less food more water changes and check to make sure filters are working properly

I've just recovered from a planaria outbreak on my 55G...and it seemed to come from some frozen cichlid mix I was feeding. I've read on here, that the worms can stay dormant in frozen food, and this is what happened to me. I only feed live food once or twice a week in my 55G, and after not having a clue what was causing it, I was extremely frustrated. So I decided to feed my 37G tank with the the frozen food, which I never do, and the next day taht tank had worms. It took 2-3 good gravel cleanings/water changes to get rid of them.

I've had them too. No biggie. I was feeding 3x per day. cut back to 2x per day and just enough food for the fish to eat and stay a little hungry. Keep up with water changes every week and they'll dissappear on their own

So is it the concensus that if perhaps some of these critters were to be swallowed on accident a person will be just fine? In other words, no trip to a doctor is needed? You know a friend of mine was asking :)

Don't think it would survive stomach acid. You might get a bit nauseous as you think I just swallowed some kind of worm, but there is micro bacteria in everything you eat and drink. Can't get more disgusting than that.
