Whats the scoop on these guys,i hear they are very hardy.Guy at pet co says they live 4 years or so,web says 16.Anyways any info?

Yes, they are very hardy. Need about a 20 gallon high enclosure, need it warm and very humid. Eats crcickets. what else you wanna know?

lol, don't go to petco for anything 
You can find them in much better health in other places. Not to mention the people at other shops might actually KNOW something about the animal...
Don't forget, Petco says Midas cichlids are Semi-aggressive and grow to 6" needing at least a 30 gallon tank...

I was in a local pet store the other day and all the reptile and amphibians for sale had a label saying what they were and how long they lived. WTF? "Oh look little Billy, we'll get you this here Leopard Gecko because the sign says it only lives a few years. I'm sure it will die around the time you get bored with it." This kind of crap drives me nuts. Sorry Jason, I'm done *****ing now.I used to have two. You wont see them until after dark. They also make a funny croak. The first time I heard it, I thought there was a bomb in my room!

dude your great,dont worry about it.I had the same rant back when i joined ,lol.I have been freinds with the manager their for a long time.Her father owned the best little store this town ever had but he moved on to bigger things and the huge chains wouldhave killed him.Its funny though when she is not their to talk with and i get to hear what the regular employes have to say.I buy my rats their and cat litter.Only like 2 places here sell feeders now.Crazy.I buy herps down south LA area.Yeah silver dollars say like 3 inchs.The green tiger barbs are like 8 bucks,sheeesh.Vicious_Fish;1464099; said:I love when pet stores tell you how long animals live!
