So this is my first dat. It came in labeled as microlepis and to my untrained eye, I would say that is correct. All these photos were taken within the first day of arrival. It’s barely 2” but has a big fish attitude already.

It was wc not sure if it was Borneo or Sumatra, but it was qt in holland then shipped here. It was also the first fish I have ever ordered or had shipped so it is really neat for me to have such a good experience on my first try.

The friend I picked it up from gave me a pack of live blood worms so that is what I have been feeding it for now. It has also taken frozen blood worms as well so that is what I will eventually use to train it to eat pellets. It has established me as the food guy already. It comes to the front and checks me out when ever I come in. Seems pretty confident and doesn’t even flinch when I do the daily wc.

I have added a pair of albino tinfoil barbs and a flagtail as a clean up crew while I am training it to go for pellets. The barbs are like sharks, never stop moving and attack food with ferocity. Hoping this will eventually teach this guy that pellets are good. Last night a friend of mine gave me a bag full of guppies, so I have a few big ol mammas that are ugly and deformed. I assume they are pregnant from the size so I figured the babies would eventually be some grazing snacks. I’m still not sure if I want to let it eat live so I may take them out before they give birth or become bite sized.

My wife loves it and keeps calling it dat e oh for some strange reason so that might stick. Lol.
