Who’s Dat new guy? IT beginnings.

After the qt process and seeing how well this little character has done I put him in the 70 g grow out tank. It stabilized within a minute after being almost full black for about a week. Hardly ever hides and is off of live food completely already. Has been crushing frozen mysis and freeze dried plankton, pellets won’t be far behind at this rate.

Nice Matthew, that's an awesome looking set-up, I'll bet he's liking his new digs. Good news he's feeding well too, let us know how it goes with pellets, hope he's chomping on those as well in near future.

Nice little guy..looks big enough to start eating small peices of tilapia. Once he gets used to it pellets wont be too far off

A few shots I grabbed before going out of town for a few weeks. I’m away for a bit so this guy will have to eat what the babysitter is feeding it. I’m pretty sure this guy will be eating pellets by the time I’m back though. I have given instructions to my friend on how to feed everyone in a way that will be enticing for this guy to learn pellets as food. He doesn’t even know he’s training my fish lol. I will congratulate him on it when I return.

I did a bit of “fake scaping” today to cover the filters, and bubblers and whatnot. Made lots of “hiding places” that I can still see the fish from. So I had to do a little photo shoot, from all angles.

This little guy is so curious, he’s always trying to see if he can be in the picture even if I’m trying to catch someone else.

Not quite 100% on pellets yet but goes for them here and there. Surprisingly enough, he seems to go for the algae wafers almost every time. Loves the freeze dried plankton, and frozen mysis. So much that my wife is no longer calling him dat ee oh, and is now calling it fat ee oh.

Dat is looking great Matthew and that's an awesome set up, my NTT would jealous (you're really making me think I should put some more decorations in his tank).
