Who am I...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
man, that sum ***** would be on my mantle if it was really 8 foot. for some reason i think its a camera trick but still, cool kill.

I try to give hunters the benefit of the doubt when they claim they care about the environment, preservation, respect for wildlife, etc. But seeing as though all but one of the comments in that thread were in support of what he did...i'm thinking otherwise. No respect, worthless minds.

I kill things for no reason.... I am a hunter now I would never have killed that snake or any snake for that matter but I am a firm believer that when there is a hunting season for something there is a reason that there is one. There is an excess of the animal to the point that without hunters things could get out of control. If your so worried about animals then why do you buy them and toss them in cages for your own enjoyment? You should leave them out in the wild then. Hunting is not a bad thing and people make it seem way worse then it is so to all that hate on hunting I say get over yourself because there would not be a hunting season for an animal that is underproducing in the wild. Worry about the poachers and illegal hunters.

Give me a break...their reasoning is based on fear and hatred. The only response in that thread as to why he killed it was claimed "rattlesnakes kill deer hunter" which was quickly shot down as being absurd.

in this case it was wrong but that does not mean that hunting doesn't serve a purpose. Wolves in Yellowstone were introduced and are now over populated so they are hunted, Deer are over populated everywhere so they are hunted too.

I think that hunting is great fun and can be done responsibly.

Hunting is just fine, but killing something just because it scares you, especially when it was attempting to flee without even threatening him, is just idiotic.

While I do agree that there are reasons for killing something, in this case, it was unjustified, imo.

I understand the purpose of hunting, although its kind of funny how its a solution to a problem we (humans) caused. Over development, habitat destruction, etc.

With that said, is there a need to control rattlesnake population in some areas? Was it in season in this case? Just some things to consider.

That is just stupid. It didnt even try to attack. He killed 1 of the buty of nature that day. So sad. I agree hunting serves its purpose if you dont go off the handle with it. Such stupid people.

That may be fine for all your hooved friends, but when it comes EDBs, you have the wrong thought process............

There isn't an "excess", and EDB's over 5ft have all but disappeared.........

"Under producing" sounds about right though. I'd educate yourself a little more before stepping into a thread you know little about.........

we are not defending this guy, he should not have killed this one. We are just saying that Hunting in general is okay.

The guy in the article is a D____ Bag. Not because he is a hunter but because he made it clear that the snake was trying to get away and clearly not a threat and he had no appreciation for what that animal represents. I too am a hunter and I have no illusions that I am having any significant effect on population control. The money generated by hunters and hunting activities for their respective states ensures these legally hunted animals will be around for a long time. The love of money is a much stronger driving force to protect animals than the appreciation of their natural beauty. Like snakeguy101 stated, if the D____ Bag would have known the snakes value, it would most likely still be alive.
