There is no fish club in South Jersey. But I attended the fish club meetings across the river in Delaware County and Buck County in PA occasionally whenever they had good speakers. Once a year I attended their annual auction to unload some fish and add some new as well as to meet old fish friends. North Jersey has more active fish clubs but I have never attended their activities due to distance except for one *** auction that I attended. However, *** activities are not my cup due to highly profit oriented nature of the activities.

You should try to make the next NJAS meeting on Thursday 3/21/13. You would enjoy the presentation by Rusty Wessel. He's also bringing some fish for the monthly mini auction.

Is it free for non member to attend? I am 1.5 hour away, and consider taking a road trip to hear his presentation.

The first meeting you attend is free. After that the club charges $5 for non-members. The $5 fee is there to prevent people form coming to the club just to get cheap fish and plants at our monthly auctions (and I do mean cheap LOL!). Dues are $25/year and entitle you to lots of benefits including 10-15% discounts on purchases at many of our sponsors (local fish stores).

The South Jersey Fish Club closed down a few years ago due to declining membership and lack of young hobbyists to support the club. Best to join the clubs across the river or go north. *** is not a fish club, but a forum mainly for African cichlids in the NJ/NY region
