Thinking about keeping one of these guys as a wet pet with my empty 55 after i grow him out a little. I did some research and theres not a ton. I would love a dovii but dont have the room or money for a 250+ gallon yet so i figured the next best thing is a grammode and they are looking better and better to me...
who can tell me about grammodes.

Don't think they would make much of a wet pet. I've never kept one myself but every one I've ever seen or heard of has been quite skiddish. Also, a 55 wouldn't be appropriate to house it for life, but with the rate that they grow you could probably get away with it for a couple of years.
he would be housed in my 75 once my 150 goes up. how are they with tankmates as i have a cuban baby i just got
they do actually make a great wet pet, but only after about 6 -7 inches did mine start to get a personality, before that he was foreverer out of sight and bear in mind they grow pretty slowly so if you want them as a wet pet consider getting a slightly larger one. once mine hit maturity he went nuts (there is a reason why they are called a mini dovii) and turned into a glass banger but very personable. i cant speak for every grammode because if im honest i havent even seen that many, i was very lucky to get hold of one at the time but definately one of my all time favorite fish
I agree with clayton, they don't make a good wetpet until they get bigger...and that takes a long long time. My last one wasn't at all personable until about 8". They're awful with tankmates, they kill anything that can't defend itself, at least that's my experience.
well i wish i ordered one when i got my festaes but my friend will be ordering from them and said he would order one for me and for $5.25 i dont see how i can go wrong. I was gonna get a dovii for $4 but i know how big they get
well i know if i ask whats a good wet pet everyones gonna say get a midas and im over those fish. I want a dovii but i know they grow quick so i fugured the grammode would be the next best thing and i dont mind the growth rate because they would grow up with my festaes
