Grammodes are great fish, don't get me wrong. If you had your heart set on a dovii but don't have the room to house one, than a grammode is def your next best choice.

Yes, but not the one I have now, I still have her. Ok, you know the male I have now?....his mother was my last female. That's the one I lost to a Grammodes. I wish I still had her. She was awesome.
I had an awesome 9" male and had to sell him because he needed his own tank. He even attacked my Dovii who was much bigger than him. He was crazy.
I bought one from jeff rapps back in september at just under 2 1/2 inches . kept him in a 125 gal. with various other central american cichlids which he quickly dominated them and became a real tyrant so i moved him to a 75 gal. by himself.He is now grown into a beautiful male who is now just under 7 inches who has great personality and very outgoing.All I feed mine is Hikari bio- gold and he seems to be doing very well on that.Awesome cichlids!
well which would be better to start growing out a beani or grammode. Once i set up the 150 i will use the 75 for the single fish
