Most of us dont' come from the era of great big men "Russel, Chamberlain" but some will remember Kareem. I just hope people look at how many rings some of those legends won....shaq 4 is NOTHING

Bill Russell has more rings than fingers
I have 10 fingers, same with Russell who has 10 rings. He had a great team around him and a great coach. I think shaq was the best if you make them play eachother in their prime. Shaq was unguardable in 00,01.

Russel has 11 rings, so unless both of you have 11 fingers, your statement would have to be incorrect

Shaq was a monster But he did not take advantage of team play like russell. Shaq never got the rebounds and blocks russell did, but they paly in different generations. As a younger person who did not witness russell other than in tapes there is no comparison between Russell and Chamberlain and the centers of the 80s-now.
The Dream, David Robinsin, Shaq, yeah they were good but not in the same class.

It is a team sport and Rings define status. This is why you see declining star's wanting to jump on contenders, because all they really want is the gold ring.

Just my opinion

I voted for Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, however my personal favorite NBA center was not on the list. Bill Laimbeer!

Naldo

This is a difficult question . . . Bill Russell was a part of a Celtic dynasty and contributed to multiple championships, but his arch rival, during that time was Wilt Chamberlin, who scored 100 points in one game. It's between Bill and Wilt, in my opinion. Most, if not all of today's centers give these two legends their due respect and acknowledge both of their contributions to the game of basketball and to the definition of the position of center, as we know it today. They were the 2 most influential NBA centers of all time. I chose not to vote due to my reasoning that, "The All-Time Best NBA center" can't be reduced to just one individual. I think a better question would've been, "Who are the All-Time top 5 NBA centers?"
