whos going out to the tub pond for the summer?
I do have multiple tubs but one is reserved for growing things out, the other is reserved for replenishing my livebearer populations

I just put some 5" festae and 4" carpintis out into my 350g stock tank/pond for the summer. I put 8 silver dollars in there for dithers.

Put them all out. Or put the ones you’ve had longest out. Only things I’ve inside right now are a half Dozen stalsbergi fry and a pair of calico HRPs on my kitchen counter and a 29 with a portions of a few calico spawns growing out. The stalsbergi will be out later this week.

not enough tubs for all of them outside yet, but do you have pictures of your calico hrps?

This little male is total glassbanger. Starting to get a good bit of orange but the fact that he’s always facing you makes him tough to get a picture of And this female is basically the ideal. Both have more blue than is showing. You can select for pattern when they are very small, but it takes a year for them to color up for real. I’m trying to select for younger and more intense color and an even covering of black

very nice, did you get them from the jeff rapps group a few years ago?

I got mine from Ken Davis. I’ve had them for 3-4. Generations so a little over a year now. The 55 in the carport has probably fry from 4 pairs I’ll keep probably 6, feed off to big fish probably 20 and distribute the rest. The 29 in the living room I’ll keep probably 5-6 fish and distribute the rest but Rey are for the most part really close to what I like so I want to keep a close eye on them. And I throw everything out as early as possible- like 2 weeks too early and it stays out probably 2 weeks too late. I like hardy fish that don’t mind extremes for a short duration and don’t mind daily temp swings.

Very nice
On my end things have been done
Wild type sailfin mollies and wild type helleri are outside now
Same with the pair of chetumalensis
Hopefully they do good, the night temps are high 50s now
Now that the sailfins are out of their tank I moved my p.salvatoris into that tank in their place

Where are you? I get the feeling you are mid Atlantic? Where are your sail fins from? What did you do with the sunfish you caught? Don’t you have gambusia holbrooki as well?
