anybody was successful in more than 1 armatus in 1 tank???
sizes of the tank?? armatus?? how many??

im seeing a lot of people with more than 1 in their tanks. i know it can be done provided you have a huge tank. but i want to know, what was the results of these cohabs?

There are a lot of threads about this. The only I see are on youtube in which they are usually housed with an ATF also. They all seem to be ok. Most of the people on here advise against it. In a couple week smy new tank should be here and cycled ready to go. I will be putting 2 12" Armatus in together. I will have pics and probably get some vid if things seem like they get a little wierd.
Search more about it and you will find something if no one else responds to this.

More than one Armatus is definitely possible, but as you mention you will need a large enough tank. They don't do well in small numbers (2-3), you need a larger group to maintian low aggression.

ok. thanks!

Calisucks (Will) had good luck. Maybe he'll chime in.

Rays got mine before 10 inches. Up till then my group of 5 seeemed to be working.

Starting this weekend I will have 4 in my pond....... Hopefully all goes well.... Although I think with (4) - 3inch Armatus in there, I may not even see them for a few months!! I guess if the feeders keep going away, I know they are alive and well. lol

With all do respect..... I wouldn't put them in a pond.

You will have NO way to know if they are getting along or not until you find a body. I went through this last year. Had some in a pond and it was a nightmare..... No way of knowing the health of the fish unless you drain the entire pond to be able to catch them and look at them that way.

Just don't want you to feel like I do now after it's all said and done. One of the stupidest things I've done in regards to fishkeeping. I had 4 that got along and IMO the pond had a lot to do with thier demise..... A year later and the regret still makes me sick.

It would also be VERY difficult to break them onto something besides feeders in a pond.... IF that is the future plan anyways.

They'll get along just fine..... I have 5 together with a silver Aro and a half dozen Odoe in a 90 and they haven't even started the jaw flapping on a regular basis yet...... Guessing 7-8 inches things will get interesting.

Just my 2 cents..... :D

The actual progression will be more like...... 30g ----> 240g ----> 1600g.

I was thinking about just moving my larger fish to the pond temporarily, then when the Armatus outgrew the 240, or became aggressive, then they move on to the pond.

Sounds MUCH better..... Believe me, you don't want to be kicking yourself like I STILL am..... I'd agree 100% with this plan....

I just know ich, aggression, and any eye conditions could be very problomatic if not noticed....

So does this mean you'll have an update for us Sunday night?? :naughty:

3 more came in yesterday, all healthy and eating. I wonder how many I can get my hands on.................. Pond will be re-filled this weekend, maybe Armatus in the 240 next weekend, or the weekend after that.
