Who has big Monos?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
So is there an "average" size?

Mine quit growing. Don't know if this means they need more room, more salt, or if they are just done growing. Scats are still growing.

Tanks a overpopulated 125 for now. 9 scats 5 sebaes and 2 Argentinians and a couple eels. Sebaes are 7-8 in tall. Arg. are prolly 6-7.

any one have any other pics

i have one about 20 inches... mono pbass ???

Dont worry, same thing happened to me...lol

Thats what happens when you have cichla on the mind.....and lack of sleep...lol

On a side note, I know a brackish water canal here that has a few pbass....

I got 2 of them (mono sabae)about 3 yrs ago and just recently gave them to a friend but they are both about 8-9" they are in brackish now but I bought them as freshwater fish for $5.00 each about size of quarter. and the whole time I kept them they were in freshwater. I add salt to all my tanks but not enough to qualify for brackish. they ate anything I tried to feed them really. they were kept at a ph of about 8.2 and were in a 135gallon with various other fish.

Wow .............I really thought these fish were a little more popular.

I guess brackish really is the black sheep of the aquaria world.
