I know, weird thread:

Looking for dead fish in NJ/PA/NY. (I'm in Central Jersey)
Please larger than 4".

I know you guys have some big guys in your freezer! I'll take them off your hands!

Why?- I'm really becoming a bone-head. I'm just starting to get into it, and need some specimens to practice on. I promise that I'll start a thread so you can see how all your fish skeletons come out.

I really don't want to be paying for dead fish, but I'll give anyone who donates a quarter and a stick of gum.:grinno:

Wow, getting 3 already! I'm happy!

I forgot to say, it's fine if they're shipped to me, just prefer local...and thanks necrocanis for all the help!

i just flushed my discus he was a huge one about 6" cant wait for pics wat kinda fish do you have coming

I'll accept dead fish as well. Anything over 8" is fine. For shipping just line a box in syrofoam, and foil. Freeze the fish in a ziplock baggy and wrap several baggies around it so that it will at least not warm up too good on delivery. So that everyone knows I have been doing fish skeletal articulations for about 10 years or more. I'll gladly accept all catfish species, and will be starting a thread about it soon. I already have a catfish anatomy thread in the catfish section if anyone wants to check it out. Let me know I'll pay for all shipping, and also if anyone wants a skeletal mount I'll try to work something out for you. Not trying to hijack your thread thefishguy, just want to fill in some of the gaps in my collection. I've done about 50-60 different species of fish skulls and skeletons, and about 200 different species of animal all together. Thanks guys, and always glad to help out where needed.

p.s. the skeleton in my avatar was the marble catfish skeleton I did when it was half done.

If your looking to have a skeleton done for you, definitely turn to necro, I have all of 2 months experience-not a whole lot...I've done some rats 2 years ago, but that's it. I'm needing the fish for a lot of practice. However, my con is turning out surprisingly well. :)

Too bad octopus dont have bones I have had an Australian blue ring in my freezer for about ten years now.I have been trying to find the solution that is used to preserve animals in jars and such,no luck so far,any advice, sorry if this derails.
