Dont know where you are but our stores get them all the time small ones are $6-$10 buccks

This name is, sadly, applied to (formerly) all three Hemibagrus species (when they are offered young) - wyckii, wyckioides, and nemurus.

Sounds like a wyckii to me but I could be wrong. I've bought 3 3"-ers for $5 each in Connecticut in 2009.

Not wyckii they are almost never available where im at. And when they are they are never labled as asian red tail cats, plus they cost more. Asian red tails wyckioides are very common in my area ive owned a bunch over the years.

There is one store here that has wyckii now for around $125 for a 6 inch of so fish, wyckioides never cost that much.

On the wyckii: yes, something appears to have changed dramatically in the last year or a few. IME and that of other hobbyists, small, cheap wyckii disappeared. Nowadays, they are larger and far, far more expensive. Like you said, $100+ for 6"-10".

IME, I believe the only nemurus we get are albino.
