Who has successful fed their thinbars pellets>?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
my 2 ITs eat OSI sinking shrimp pellets. At first I had just 1 IT with 6 silver dollars and surprisingly he competed with them for the pellets for no reason at all. Then I had another IT and put him in and after about a month he also ate pellets. My NTT is separated though (still quite small) and I think that if I put them together he will eat pellets too!(hoping for the best).

My only regret though is that no LFS in our country currently has any hikari massivore, all they have is those ones for koi and cichlids:(. And the worst thing is everyone seems to have stopped importing the only pellets they ever liked. Well I consider myself pretty lucky though since the ITs seem to be eyeing the floating pellets I feed my SDs and also because of the fact that I never had to starve them for them to take pellets, greedy fellas.

how long would a 4"er last without food?

my 3 inch NTT wouldn't eat anything from day 1 of putting him in the tank for 6 weeks

6 weeks seams to be the normal time before they give in and start eating something

Thank you very much Tikarmann you have helped me a lot. I guess the starving will begin:headbang2

why i ask is my staple diet is raw shrimp that i get at Aldi's for 3.99 for a 1 pound bag. i feed that to all my fish and it lasts about a month. 4 bichirs, 1 dat, 11" pbass, JD, and 2 plecos. they also get BW and some feeders that i am breeding myself for a treat, but the shrimp is the staple.

Yea shrimp is currently the staple. Trying to wean on pellets

forget the shrimp the growth rate is very slow if you just feed shrimp/prawn

i have 2 tigers 1 NTT and 1 NGT both were put in the tank at 3 inch

the NTT eats pellets and is now 7 inch

the NGT only eats prawn its only 4 inch

i have also found that when the main food is salty food like prawn shrimp mussel cockle the tigers seam to flick rub more it maybe something to do with something thats not in the food they are eating or a high salt content

i have been keeping tigers for over 8 years now and they are just things i have noticed
