Sorry, mine died last night at a length of about 33cms, or 13 inches in the old scale. My fault, there wasn't enough oxygen in the tank for it and several other fish too. I had it for about 18 months and it was about 8cms long when I bought it.

wow i did not expect such bad news on this thread..i am very sorry..13 inches was a great size for BKG .. that is a terrible loss.

well i should have realized just how unique having a big BGK is .. but i really thought there would be a few MFK people .. so surprised.

I've had one for just about a year now. He's 9" (10" when I feel like exaggerating). He was about 3" when I got him.

The guy is a porker. He eats everyone's food. I have to feed several times over the course of an hour to make sure everyone else gets enough.
