Just wondering, largest koi in the UK is 1.5m long and weighs 90+lbs. Grass carp also reach 1.2m, lots of common and mirror carp exceed 50lbs. My largest carp is only 2 feet long (60cm) but growing steadily. Has anybody got a monster they want to share with us?

Our largest koi are too not much over 2', up to 27". Our largest ever was 31", lost a few years back to an algae bloom in a temporary outdoor koi pond.

Unless it is a coincidence, the 226 year old koi lived all its life in Japan with 3-4 generations of human owners and is a famous character. IIRC it died long ago, could be 50 years ago or more.
This 4 footer is a freak of nature, like a 9' human named Goliath. 3.5' is rather common in Japan, not anywhere else. 3' is rare in the US. 5' would be a nuclear-tampered mutant but until I see evidence, I'd say it is a fable.I found this online, but it's from 2007

Cyprinus carpio do get to over 100 pounds. At that point I doubt they are 5 feet. Most of their weight comes from their insane girth.
