Aggressive as is trying to harm you. No... but they are smart and know that food comes from our hands... my fires use to dance for me to beg for food. My M dayi will steal food out of my gars mouths, and take worms from my hand. Boisterouse is another word Ide use for most spineys.. ime fire eels are actually the gentle giants of the spiney world. They house just fine with any community friendly fish, and are timid if kept with anything overly aggressive.

Honestly a pair cichlids is more aggressive. Most spiny eels are shy.

They'll bite you looking for food. They don't bite you due to territorial aggression like cichlids or something. And them biting doesn't hurt any worse than the standard catfish. Feels like sandpaper.
Oh and mine is 20". Just a baby. He does nibble on my fingers when he's hungry
.lol i miss my fire eel, picked up a tire track but hes more shy then my fire was. Wrking on getting the local fish store to order me in 1 or 2 to house with my TT. my TT is a 7 inch and the first eel i lost was 17 and as thick as 3 fingers wide.
