I'm an electro-mechanical field engineer. I currently take care of high-speed, radiologically-sourced scanning control systems used in large scale manufacturing (paper, metals, chemical, etc). I'm retired Navy. Same electronics. The difference is that, now, when the equipment works, the customer produces a product. When the equipment worked at my last job, the ship was capable of locking on tracks to launch missiles or fire ship's guns on.
