Who has the most water changed without a python?

wait so if the python pumps water directly into the tank what about chlorin and such things in the water?

exactly why I fill with buckets and pretreated water. NO chlorine or chloramine or ammonia enters my tank. Others just treat the tank as the untreated water is added.

Well wondering if there are any others who don't use the python for water changes. Today I changed 150 gallons of water with just 5 gallon buckets.
30x 5 gallon bucket fulls or 15 trips of 80 pounds, roughly 1200 pounds of water. Well at least I don't have to bother going to the gym

We change out 200 gallons at a time on our 300 gallon tank--no vacuuming, no python, no hoses or buckets. We just turn a couple of valves on/off. We started off with a 5 gallon bucket brigade on our overcrowded 55 gallon tank and then graduated to two pythons (one in, one out) When we set up the 300 gallon tank, my husband determined to make it as maintenance-free as possible. We actually change out 200 gallons on two consecutive days to get the nitrates as low as possible. After the first 200 gallons, we run out of hot water, so we do a second WC the next day.

My back hurts just thinking of all the water you carried today!
