Man these things are awesome...I never new about this fish. I used to have the redline snakeheads along time ago but they got to big and sold them off.

I wish i could keep these here in the US...dam laws :(

Does anyone know the exact laws are they illegal to import but if you have them you can still breed? If so maybe theirs someway I could get these :)

Ohh well you guys are lucky these fish rock.

It's illegal to import, export , sell or own any type of snakeheads in most States. They are illegal because they are an invasive fish that can destroy ecosystems. Also snakeheads have a labrinth that enables them to breathe air, they can travel onland as long as they can remain most which allows them to travel from body of water to body of water. But bleheri only grow to 8 inchs so fish owners will probly never have to get rid of them and any unwanted fry can be used as feeder fish for other fish like my thin bar dat

Today i found beef heart in the cubes at a lfs, i bought some, fed it to the bleheri when i got home...They mangled it i was so happy!!!

I have a beef heart in my freezer that I am going to chop and mix with krill and other stuff before refreezing it, I have seen mentioned before that they are prone to bloat if they eat it
What do you think?

i think thats a fact ...this is the reason that big al's stopped selling it. It is obviously not food that a fish would find in it's environment so the fish might have trouble digesting it at first. However, if used properly it should have a positive effect as appose to a negative one. Many people say Beef Heart increases growth rate of a fish dramatically... I noticed that, first hand, when i had red belly pirahnas. So i'll continue to feed it to the bleheri in moderation and i'll let you know what happens i rotate between beef heart, blood worms, plancton, a type of mixed marine diet and krill. All accept for the krill are frozen cubes.

p.s: i guess thats alittle to much info :naughty:
