That is great to know.. do you have some that have lived a long time in captivity.. because the breeding ponds are a very natural place for the Arowana..what can we do to improve their life span in our tanks,,, this is 2006 ..you would think they would come up with a special Arow tank where they could jump and not get hurt.. you know like a top inside cushioned, non toxic, that would stand up to water.. .. anyway thank you for info.. just want mine to live a long life...
Maby a rubbeized mesh on the top of the tank that like the kind they use for safe fishing nets.

Something that you could take off and wash and small enough spaces so the arow would not get caught in it.. someday we will have this invention out on the market because it just needs to be there with all these arows in home aquariums.. and the weight on top of the tank is a must DO FOR NOW.. but something soft and plyable would be much better. IF HE JUMPS AND HITS INTO IT HE WON'T HURT HIMSELF......keep thinking!!!:D

i still think this works pretty good...

it wold be able to atach to the tank a thick rubberized mesh with a little slack that would allow for sofening of impact. Maybe with a mesh like this with 1/4 inch holes
