  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm excited to see some fully matured gts. I've had mine for 7months and got her when she was 1 1/2ins she is now about 5 1/2, maybe closer to 6.

i don't believe you, how is that a female? thick seam on the tail, lots of iridescence on the body and the forehead angle all looks male to me.

wait you mean the third pic only right, in that case that is a female, but the other 2 pictures are male right?

I believe he stated they are all the same female, just different times in her life?
and band thickness on the tail fin really doesn't mean anything other than good or poor genetics for that specific trait.
Even a female can be the dominant fish and display bright coloration... until she gets taken down a peg or two by a more dominant fish. Also, you can see her sexual organ in the middle photo clear as day, quite rounded and blunt

MrsE88 MrsE88 you have an absolutely stunning female... hopefully one of mine turn out like that lol

Look a that tube in the 2nd pic. Good example of how difficult it can be to sex a GT sometimes. Other than that it doesn't have much patterning in the dorsal or cadual fins, and no trailer, which you can't go by all the time.

All pictures are of the same fish. Haha. Her nice coloring is what made me hold out hope that she would be a he for so long. I was just waiting for the dorsal fin to get trailers. But oh well. Now I'm just itching for a male to breed with her.

Athletic_Amph thank you:) I'm sure yours will be gorgeous!

the bearding on the female was the only trait that caught my eye as being female.

Either way nice looking fish. Seems like lots of us have younger GT's, where are all the older ones at?
