He commands the entire 55 he is in, he recently snapped and almost killed his bonded mate, who was left with a stub for a caudal fin and one and a half pectoral fins.

He is about 4 inches SL, his trailers make his TL a little over 5 I am guessing
 
looks to be the same size as mine. Why would mine be so much darker?
 
very nice cons and HRP :) Sorry to hear about the loss Didgeridoo but yeah as you found out, HRP are fairly docile and would be no match for freddies.

Genetics probably, Aquascaping also plays a role in coloration.

The freddies were about the same size at the time so I figured they'd be ok. The male was half of an F1 pair I had. I can't remember the locality. Rio .....
 
I used to have a nice big chunky convict. I like them because you can keep them with bigger fish and they know how to take care of themselves so well.
 
I think cons are so underrated
