Hi MFK! there is a very nice EBJD at a LFS near my house, it's been there a while, but not because of it being sick or something like that... just because people don't now what they are! I've been looking for some info, but I want to hear some exp from you! Thanks a lot!!!

I would really need some help with this one please!!

iv never kept them personally but i have researched them what exactly were you wanting help with?

How big is the fish? Does it look healthy? Do you have a photo?

While it's young your water perameters need to be especialy good. They are very prone to disease until they get over 4 inches long so don't introduce any new fish until after that. Also their growth rate is slower than regular Jack Dempseys.

Keep them just as you would any other JD, the difference is that they are weaker as far as immunities are concerned. Post above me had it spot on. It also seems they aren't quite as aggressive or active as a JD, which aren't particularly aggressive in the first place.

thanks a lot for your help! well, It is a little one, not very little, but I guess about 8-10cm, I'm not used to inches... sorry.. I've heard that they are a little sensitive, but I guess I can give him a nice care! I'll try to take a picture of it tomorow, and post it so you can give me your advise! CA cichlids are my speciality, and I really love to take care and breed them! So I guess this little fellow won't be such a big problem! I guess discus are more sensitive?? Well, thanks again! I hope I can go and take him a photo and show it to you!!

oh, and well, It is very active in the tank where he is! He have a very looooong dorsal and anal final fin rays! So I guess that says he is a very healthy and quick growing little guy, since a time ago he was just a baby EBJD in the same tank with some tanganyikan cichlids!
