Honestly big goldfish creep me out more then any other fish ive seen in tanks haha

Who here has the Largest Goldfish in their Aquarium?

I have a question for all you guys that keep them with tropical fish. Are they affected by the higher temp at all? I have 1 in a 29g with a bunch of other fancy goldfish and I've been debating on adding it in my 150g with my bichirs and payara's. Its way too big for any of them to eat but it seems to have stopped growing in the small tank.

While I don't personally keep goldfish with tropicals one important factor to consider is the amount of dissolved oxygen in subtropical and tropical water. Subtropical water(cold) has a much higher oxygen content then tropical water. With that said goldfish are highly adaptable, mostly because the region they where originally sourced from can go through dramatic changes in climate between the winter and the summer. So people have some success keeping them with tropicals to a degree. Still I imagine since it's not natural for them to be kept in tropical conditions long term and since there's less dissolved oxygen in tropical water, keeping a goldfish in a tropical tank has to have some negative affect on them. I imagine that stunting them might be one such affect, as such moving the goldfish to your tropical tank may not help the goldfish grow despite the tank itself being larger then the one it's currently in. There's probably a lot more to consider but that's the limit of my knowledge, hopefully someone else who has long term experience keeping goldfish with tropicals will chime in.
Goldfish like it about 60-75, but they don't like the heat and go off feed in cold. I haven't had time to update much, I sold my fancies last summer they were 4-5 inchesat the time. I consolidated my tanks too. I'm down to one 125g for now, though I'm calling on a 150g later today.. I really should sell the 125g at that point.. um, we'll see if that happens.
I have some grow outs from fall, a couple shubunkin I held back but I will end up selling this spring, a few comets, and sarasas too. I have a pretty nice one someone didn't want anymore, he's put weight back on now and his fins look better. I think he's close to a foot long, I'll see if I can measure him this weekend. I'm not sure what he is either, looks like a sarasa, but has matte and metallic scales mixed. I have another larger sarasa as well that I took in this week, he got really skinny in the cold outside this winter. He has perked up well since being inside again.

Scored the 150! It'll now be a week of getting it prepped for transfer. I'll measure my big guy when I transfer him over and post a pic, I think he's only bout 9 inches on the body though, we'll see how close I estimated.
I've had mine about a year or less. They are still pretty small maybe I don't feed them enough? They are 3-4" body length.
All of the pictures of single tails are just standard orange. Anyone have a calico or red or something that big???
When my wife and I buy our house and I can get my massive (500g+) tank it's threads like this that make me want to make it a single tail goldfish tank. It's either that or sharks, but the ease and cost of maintaining an unheated freshwater tank vs a tropical saltwater tank is sooooo tempting.
