I see alot of people here and on LFS's using feeding sticks and tongs. It seems to me that you would stab a fish in the mouth or eye when the fish strikes. Is it just me or is this an issue? I never have or never will use feeding sticks or run with scissors.:screwy:

we have a large frontosa in with some other african cichlids in a 220g tank at work. the thing is big wussy and never leaves this plastic log thingie he hides in. we use the feeding stick to put food in its face and it gently removes it from the pole.

They just want you to by that stuff from them. I use a turkey baster. You can suck up worms and things, suck larger items onto the tip or trim the end to suck larger things.

But then again, my fish go after the food, like, well, monsters...

I sawe a video on here just today of an Arapima eating from one and there was nothing graceful about it. Looked like the fish took it in the eye a few times.

I can't fathom the idea of feeding a fish with a stick unless it is a slow eater. If a fish eats fast enought to risk injury to itself, it doesn't need its food on a stick. :screwy: The person on the other end of the stick would have to be a moron.

I use the Eheim tongs ... only crazy people feed their wolf by hand :screwy: and he loves the interaction. They're plastic, no sharp edges, completely safe
