Let see pictures of them! I have seen a couple of pictures and read a few profiles on these guys. From what I have read they seem to behave much like Convicts.

Has anyone had any luck keeping them with larger more aggressive species (Jag, JD, Midas, etc)?

Lets us know and show off some pics!!!!

they are nothing like cons...

much much less agro. i will try to get you some pics of my pair later today.

and no i don't think you would be able to keep them with "Jag, JD, Midas, etc"

Yeah im keeping both varients, not like cons.

Kept them with jags and JD but the jags out grew them so i removed the sajica, jack dempseys whould be alright with them but no to the RD and jag.

Heres some pics of mine i posted in a different thread-http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=153477&highlight=sajica

Thanks for the info, I am curious about the species because my goal is to set up a 180 gallon Costa Rica Bitope, with a Jaguar as the centerpiece, and a few smaller cichlids that were smaller but able to co exist with them. So far Convicts are the only fish to it the bill, but I would like to find similar sized and temprament fish.

How do Flier/Flyer Cichlids, Archocentrus centrarchus rate in terms of agression

I have the regular red/blue strain which seems to be rarer now. My males are pretty aggressive toward each other and toward the females. I have 1M+3F in a 125G and a bunch of 1" fry too. The male does a pretty good job of keeping two of the females nicked up. I have them with significantly larger, relatively peaceful fish (centrarchus, rostratus, and splendida), although I've seen the splendida go after a couple of the females a few times.

My experience with centrarchus is that they're not aggressive. They might chase each other around a bit but really won't do any damage.

Here's few pic's of my sajica and some fry.

Is Cryptoheros the correct genus, or is it Archocentrus?

He's a pic of one of my little guys, I've got three males around 4cm, plus a couple of females. They're all from the same batch, so I'm going to swap my females for a couple from different parents and then when they've both got a bit more size on them I'll breed the best male to the best female.

Nice male! How old/large is he? Mine are almost a year and a half old but don't have humps yet.

Wow, my guys are probably less than 6 months old and are starting to show a hump. I've been feeding them three times a day on cichlid gold, various different crumbles, shrimp, bloodworms and other frozen meaty foods.
