Now if you matched up a gar or pike or arrow up against a knife then it would be closer to maybe vote.

And then you have the personality of the fish. You might have a gentle Knife or a butcherer and the same with a ornate.

Knifefish are just better opportunists all around. The scensory and manueverability far exceeds that of other fish. Mine always get the most food and usually run the tank. Of course, they probably wouldn't match the voracity of a snakehead but I think they are still better adapted all around.

I think knives are all round preds and polys are more ambush preds. So I voted knife.

I think its their nostrils, for smelling or sensing food.

Both are very cool predators , knife has the speed advantage. Also knifes have sensory organs to detect prey better.

A large knife fish is the top predator in this situation

simply because of the fact that a knife fish is a very cunning predator...i don't think they seem to laze around like bichirs do.
