Jimmy Carter, not know as one of the better presidents, But great humanitarian in recent years. He was the only US president that didn't impress me as stuffy in my lifetime.

Albert Schweitzer--with a PhD in theology, this gifted organist and Bach expert, decided he wanted to be medical missionary instead of a pastor. After finishing medical school, he went to Africa as a missionary doctor and founded his hospital in Lambaréné in French Equatorial Africa in 1913. He received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1952. This brilliant, gifted theologian, physician, musician spent most of his life as a missionary in Africa. He died in 1965 and was buried at Lambaréné.
