Ive transported my 12" kelberi to my buddies house which is just a couple minutes down the road. I had it in a 30gal Rubbermaid container. We didn't do any drip acclimation. We put him right in my buddies tank as soon as I got there. Kelberi is still live and super healthy. I did make him do a water change the next day. I also had him take my 12" Oscar at that time as well. I was very nervous not having an air pump cause every was telling me how it wouldn't make it. Sometimes it's just the luck the of the straw. Any fish can get over stressed some more then others.
