maybe channels near you get big but not up here in mi ( excluding private ponds) a tipical channel in our rivers is around 18 -20 inchs and the rare 10- 20 pounder.

the world record channel only weighed 58 pound so i dont know where you got 64

channel cats are really common game fish, they get huge. ive known it for a while

My channel reached around 18" in a year. Now he's nearly 28" after two years.
