Who knows car audio (subwoofers)

as far as a sub goes i recomend a 10 inch alpine type r sub in a ported box. hook this to a 500 watt rms alpine amp and you have a great system. im running this in my truck and i have more bass then one of my friends who has two 12s, and it sounds better. it doesn't matter the size of your sub if its not set up correctly with the right power going to it. i picked up my sub and box brand new never mounted for $100 off craigslist and bought the amp new for $150.
 
I have had JLW6 kicker L712 and now an alpine type R, all three are very solid subs, price wise you cant beat the type R, I believe I paid $120 total for a new one, very nice sub. The one twelve is more than enough for my accord lol. JL is overpriced, and the L7 thunders like no other in the price range.
 
If you can find them, Memphis Audio is the stuff. I used to compete years ago. If you want something more common, look for JL Audio or Kicker.
 
kicker is overpriced for what it is the amp is a rockford fosgate punch p-3000 its a mono powered amp ill give you a good deal on it if you want to buy.
 
I use to be into car stereo but I haven't really paid attention to new brands in the last 7-8 years. So unless they're new, I've never heard of that company.
