WHo knows their LIGHTS???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That is a very good price. Generally PC bulbs are $40-50 at LFS, and HO T5 bulbs are $8-9. HO T5 bulbs also run a lot cooler, and will get some amazing colors on stony corals.

Ok so i just checked a LFS around my school, and i found a lighting fixture for a relatively good deal...

It is on this link.. http://www.current-usa.com/novaextreme.html

Its the one with 216 total Watts... I may ask them to order me the 432 Watt one...
IT was 400$ at another LFS and only 275$ at this one... whats your take?? 275 Legit??

Worth it for a 55G beginners reef??? Thanks

4 x 54 watt would be perfect for a 55 gallon and would do good on a 90 as well its not so much watts as it is lumens and t5ho puts out more lumens per watt than any other really I will be doing 4 x 54 watt on my 90 or 6x54 but for being a beginer go with smaller use the rest of the money for other stuff

So you think the 4x54 is good.. dont just get the 8x54??? Its only like 275 at one of lfs...for the 4x54... what kinds of corals can be kept with this kind of T5??? like i kno clams are a no no... think an Anenome could survive and thrive???

you can keep sps lps clams all under t5ho they are just as good as halides look at the dimensions of the 8x54 watt its way too big for a 55 they are usually 20" deep

halides are awsome but for a person that does not want a chiller they are not the way to go thats why t5ho are great all the lumens with no heat

i have never needed a chiller but i guess that would depend on where you live, you can hang suck lights high off the tank and get great results
