KFC is pretty good, home made is much better. I make a lot of different pot pies at home. I use leftover chicken breast cubed mixed with frozen mixed veggies, cream of potato soup, and a little milk. Season with salt and pepper or Tony's Cajun Seasoning. Made a pot pie last week out of pot roast left overs. Cubed everything and mixed in gravy and can of cream of potato soup. It came out very, very good. So good that a friend came over to help me move 160 studs and 30 sheets of drywall into my basement and he thanked me for inviting him over when he left, after eating 2/3 of the pie himself.

Great episode...the good ole days of South Park.

Finally finished my "bott boi". A lot of work to make from scratch. You have to make stock by boiling the meat (pheasant in this case) and make your own dough to cut in squares and then you put the meat in after cooking the potatoes and dough. Wish I would have had more potatoes to add and maybe some squirrel. Made more dough than I needed, but the good thing about that is I can make a Your Place style Stromboli now, I'll just have to add some yeast and pick up the meats and cheeses.

there are a lot of variations, but it's pretty simple, just time consuming unless you buy some stuff already made. If you google search "pennsylvania dutch style pot pie", you'll get quite a few variations. Some of the basics that I went by:

dough: flour, salt, shortening, egg, water...roll out really thin and cut into about 1" squares
potatoes (cut up to whatever size...usually use white potatoes in about 1/2" pieces)
stock/meat: boil meat w/ bones until done...you can strain the stock if you want and/or reduce it a little and/or add bouillon and whatever else you want to add flavor

take meat out and pull off of the bones...if you want, you can take the leftovers and make more stock for something else
boil potatoes until soft in stock and then add dough, parsley, salt and pepper until cooked and put meat back in

I'd offer you some that I made, but you're pretty far, lol.

In case you're wondering about my connection, I have a lot of German ancestors that settled in PA and I lived there for almost half of my life.
