Trying to get a new tank in the house is like pulling teeth with my boyfriend. Dunno why, I pay, set up, maintain and reinforce, whatever it takes, all he has to do is look at 'em. I always win though, so it's all good. 
Who needs permission for tanks?

NETFLIX BABY they have everything... I love Hong Kong films... I was turned on to "OLD BOY" by a friend about 4 months ago I have now seen it 3 times
I made a deal with my Wife that she could have another Australian Shepard puppy if I could have a 120 gallon tank. She was really upset when I had a friend help me bring it in. I put it in the den over a new pergo floor that I installed. The tank looks good and I keep it clean but every now and then she regrets that she took the second puppy. I have a 55 and 75 in my office also. She says our home looks like a fish store 
The other day one of the crickets to feed my jar escaped and was in her bathtub when she was filling it up. She screamed and I ran and got it. Still good for a feeder.

Yup, have to convince. I always hold over her head the fact that SHE got me started in this. Birthday 3 years ago.... a 10 gallon tank. Now I have 6 tanks. two 100's, 75, 55, two 30's.
Although I am selling the 75 and 55 and not filling up one of the 30's. So that brings me down to 3. Plus I had to compromise and put my native tank in the garage.
But the answer for me is yes.....

I sort of ask my husband, he doesn't mind(he loves the fish), his obsession is dvds(well I'm obsessed too but him more then me), I get a new tank, he gets a load of new dvds, posters, etc. We're selling our house and getting a larger one, I've already said we need a dining room in our new place so I can get a couple of 4ft tanks(or maybe a 6ft & 4ft lol).
It's his fault anyway, I hadn't had fish since I was younger, he bought me a little black moor in a goldfish bowl for my birthday last year and I went out the same day and got it a tank. I bought a 4ft tank off ebay in January, then a small tank a week later then another 3 weeks ago. I still browse ebay for bargains, I almost bought a 3 x 2 x 2 for £75 last week but I just didn't have the space for it, Oh I can't wait until I move!

i pretty much do what i want
i don't have to ask but as in all relationships communication is the key
so i do tell her before i buy and then listen to her say why but i always have a good excuse

I definitely have to seek permission to get tanks from the GF. I have a 175, 60, 60, 30, 30, 29, and 15. I asked if I could get a 360 and put it in the garage, has anyone heard the "do whatever you want" reaction??? Needless to say, I didn't buy the tank....
