Who on here is thinking of switching jobs...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
awaiting to see if the new place can at least match my compensation...

I'd love to get out of the automotive industry. Will be taking a turn for the worse soon.... The guys that can fix the stuff now are on thier way out. The guys coming in are bailing cause you can walk into almost any factory and make more loot then an entry level tech.

Stuffs advancing at a rediculous rate and the pay isn't moving. Plug in cars are getting closer and closer and nobody is gonna be around to fix them.

Warranty coverage is going on longer and longer which means more getting butchered by warranty times. Nobody likes working 40 hours a week and getting paid for 25. The more experience and better you get the more warranty stuff you get, the less the hours you book, the less money you make......lol Compensated for getting better at what you do? Couldn't be more wrong.

I wouldn't recommed this crap to anyone...... Having to know how new cars work inside and out, daignose anything that can go wrong with them, and on a good day you might make half what the people on the assembly line get paid...... Kinda like making more money in the factory that makes scaplals than the brain surgeon that uses them makes..... Makes no sense.

In the western world as we have it now, keeping your current job is the most challenging chalenge in front of us.

This no time for adventures or " feeling one's job is boring"

Just my opinion.

I just switched jobs about 3 months ago. I use to work for a small bank that caters to super-rich folks. Wasn't even thinking about changing jobs because I was comfortable with what I was doing but my mother-in-law kept telling me to find a job with the city. She kept telling me when I get older that will lay me off and this and that. The city's transit system was accepting applications for Transit Operators and I applied and I was shocked that I got accepted. Best decision I made in a long time. I was at my old job for 7 years.

During the recession, my old company laid off about 400 employees out of about 1250 employees nation-wide. People who worked there for 10 plus years. I was the person who made all the access cards so I knew the hiring rate and we didn't hire anyone for a good year.

If you are thinking about switching jobs... good luck.

I'm OK where I am at but something new would be refreshing and nice. I'm looking . Anyone want to hire?
