I currently have a bullhead, a longear sunfish, and a crayfish. All caught from creeks around me. I'm hoping to get a larger tank so I can get more. Here are a few pics.

I have 4 green sunfish, 4 pumpkin seeds, and 2 black bullhead in a 75 gallon. ll were caught from the wild and have adapted easily to captivity. They regularly eat pellets and stuff like small catfish and shrimp chunks. I actually got rid of my African cichlids to keep native species. Always loved to watch sunfish off the dock as a kid. They are very active and beautiful fish. Don't know why it is illegal to keep them in the US, but it's worth the minor risk.

They are not illegal to keep in the US or Illinois, Scotts pet shop in Weschester IL, sells native fish from hatcheries. In the past they have had: Tiger Musky, Northern Pike, Longnose Gar, Alligator Gar, Paddlefish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Bluegill, , Redear Sunfish, Pumpkinseed Sunfish, Green Sunfish, Black Crappie, Yellow Bullhead, Brown Bullhead, and Yellow Perch.

To keep fish in Illinois that you caught yiu just have to be sure you do it leaglely, have a license, and follow size & bag limits.

I have or had the following:
Tiger Musky, Chain Pickerel, Redfin Pickerel, Grass Pickerel, Longnosed Gar, Northern Studfish, Stickelback, Roseyred Minnow, Fathead Minnow, Golded Roach, Golden Shiner, Pirate Perch, White Bass, White Perch, Largemouth Bass, Brown Bullhead, Black Bullhead, Yellow Bullhead, Spotted Bullhead, Channel Catfish, Albino Channel Catfish, Tadpole Madtom, Stonecat, Bluegill, Redear Sunfish, Pumpkinseed Sunfish, Green Sunfish, Redspotted Sunfish, Spotted Sunfish, Longear Sunfish, Redbreast Sunfish, Warmouth, Flier Sunfish, Bluespotted Sunfish, Banded Sunfish, Blackbanded Sunfish, Dollor Sunfish, Orangespotted Sunfish, Bantam Sunfish, Rockbass, Shadow Bass, Yellow Perch, White Crappie, Black Crappie, ReoGrand Perch, Bigmouth Buffalo.
