who said aro could not have tank mates????

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
nitrate level of 10 ppm with water changes every 8 weeks :bs:
I know man! He can fools those that don't have such fish or tank, but not you or me... :grinno:

I might be totally wrong here but ID Shark = Iridescent Shark right???? Am I the only one that thinks a 6ft tank is going to be WAY too small for one, let alone several, ID Sharks???
You may get way ahead of yourself... Be realistic, don't "think!" Most of the time, "I think" means "I have no clue."

I am being realistic IMO. This looks way to large to be kept in a 6ft tank... You don't think so?... I think ID Sharks look pretty awesome and would love to keep them but know I'll never be able to house something that grows this large.

Like I said, you're not being realistic. You live off pictures from internet. Look at his video... The sharks were probably 2ft, in a 6ft x 4ft footprint tank. I didn't see a shark as big as your posted picture in a 6ft x 4ft tank

Live of pictures from the internet? Uhm, no, but okay. Anyhow, I was using that picture as an example of their potential size. I'm basing the tank size for them off actual research on how large they get, which they can definitely grow larger than 2 feet.

I didn't see that video though. Glad you pointed that out cause I wanted to see them. They look awesome, as most of the ones I see in aquariums. I'd love to keep a few of them.

you see... most people couldn't take the idea that somebody can have a good water with minimal water change. nobody had ever ask first how it happened? have you ever heard of aquaponics wherein fish and plants are raised for foods? the next question should be "what is your filtration system?"....

does any of you knows what is this???? this is part of my filtration....

The idea of adding refugium, putting plants in filltration system, or directly in tank have been used. It helps to reduce ammonia. However, with the size and kind of fish, in the size of tank you have going for 8 weeks without water change is impossible to have the nitrate level of 10ppm, unless you feed them once every 8 week, then it may (and only MAY) be possible.

do you think feeding them once a week will let them grow that big??? that aro is basically 15 months under my watch!

my filter is basically unusual too... using 3 x 2200LPH powerhead and 2 x 16 liter size bucket full of media... and the system is just a free flowing by gravity....

your tank is much to small for them fish

who ever told you you cant keep other fish with aros were talking crap and maybe if you done some resurch before buying the aro you would have found hardly anyone keeps an aro in a tank on its own with the exception of may a jardini aro
