my jar is also pretty friendly mmhmm, hes been in a community tank with the smallest fishes around 2.5-3in. and the jar is 9.5inches right now. hes been in the community tank since the march and the smaller fishes would often brush up against him and he wont do anything. although when its feeding time he'll steal shrimp from the jack Dempsey even if the jd has the shrimp in their mouth. and vice versa, yes the jd would try and steal the shrimp from the jar but the jar doesnt let go of it.

Hope it works out. Soem fish are strange, I had a Jewel Cichlid that was pretty mean, and I put a Blue Gourami in with it and it kinda fell in love with it. Swimming and eating together etc.
Jar combo has been proven to work for some and devastating for others. I am one of the lucky ones that has a jar in a com tank with silvers and others ... i think i am not goign to test the theory much longer though - jar is gettign his own space - after i cycle one of the old six footers he is out...hmmm as he is catching up in size with silvers.

sweet combo...im rooting for yeah, i always wanted to add a jar with my black but never was willing to lose my black or a new jar and now my black is 16" the thought just left my mind! GL
