i just bought a container of NLS jumbo fish formula 4.5 mm floating pellets to feed to my jag, dempsey, con,gr terror. i only bought the "jumbo" pellets cuz they float and they only had regular cichlid pellets in 1 mm sinking. is this stuff good?, i read that they guarantee results in a week or something like that. i payed 20 bucks for 7.9 ounces .

NLS is by far the most premium and nutritionally balanced diet on the market today. For a long time I had been a supporter and user of Hikari products but RD(Neil) opened my eyes and all I had to do was simply read the ingredient list. NLS has premium ingredients like whole Antarctic Krill, Herring and Squid whereas Hikari has a lot of fillers and artificial colours. Also I've realised that I don't have to feed as much as I did with Hikari. Remember to never over feed your fish and always feed them pellets that they can swallow whole and not have to chew.

my fish are around 4 inches and they have to chew the nls, i have hikari gold mini pellets (smaller than nls), should i keep them on that until theyre big enough to swllow the nls without chewing?

At 4" they should be handeling 1 or 2MM pellets with no difaculty. What kind of fish are they? NLS should be feed at a size the fish can swallow whole and not chewed. Smaller is better in this case.

NLS is truly an amazing company. While producing a product nearly identical in ingredient to many others, they have somehow managed to cultivate a legion of internet fanboys, spewing propoganda with the fury of a thousand busy fingers and clickety-key strokes.

Buying NLS is the aquaria-hobby's equivelant to carefully stretching on an Affliction shirt over your spiked-frosted tips and putting some Ed Hardy sunglasses on top of your head. You don't want to be that guy, do you?

That being said, I have some. I feed it to my Africans. It's a good product.

Personally I preffer Dianichi. Jeff Rapps suggest a brand called Xtreme . It's a much more douchy name than NLS, but they're legit. The media on their site comparing themselves to other procuts (NLS and Dianichi included) does make a pretty good case for their stuff.
