i was looking into them too im tired of checking my ph would really like a meter the checks it all amonia etc...

i was thinking of getting one... but i never test water

i had a ph crash a few weeks ago .. luckily i didnt lose any fish but i wouldve been a few days quicker with my diagnostics or it would have never happened if i had the electronic ph monitor.

The one im looking to buy looks like this :

To those who are not familiar with a device like this, you put the probe in your sump or tank and the device will monitor your PH continously and in real time.

thats great... how much are they.. and howmuch they set you back :)

Zach, around 90 bucks at big als. Its well worth it considering the prices of fish today.

soo true im ordering one i had major problems with ph in the past lost alot of fish dont want too loose anymore and 90 bucks seems worth it

I have one that used for anodizing, it cost me $14 but it prolly not sensitive enough to be exact when it comes to 10ths of a incriment. Also I have dipped that thing into lye and battery acid, no way is it going in my aquariums.

I bet if you do the math an electric PH monitor would be cheaper over time. Think how much you pay for those little test kits. A PH monitor should last years, while the little test kits, depending on how often you test the ph, will last a few months. Anyone agree with me on that?

id say along time my kit cost me 6 bucks almost a year ago and i still have some left but eventually i guess it would pay for itself
