Yup you gotta do the work your self. I love doing WC's. I like seeing my fish in a nice clean enviroment. I always start my gravel vac with my mouth LOL.
Never buy plecos for cleaning purposes at all. They are the poop problem!

Although this is all true... I once had an albino channel cat, that would eat the poo as soon as it fell outta the fishes bums! I witnessed it on numerous ocassions that fish would eat everything! I wish he didnt die... he would be very monster by now!

No wonder he died lol you tried to keep him in a 55 Do you think if a fish ate poo, it would not poo itself? What animal do you know that doen't go to the bathroom? Think about it

I chuckled.

Poop cleaners only break down others' feces and draw the unused nutrients. Eventually, it will end up as just pure waste.

Too bad small enivornments are too delicate to let chemicals break down and go through a cycle that won't put too much stress on the habitants.

My tinfoils eat my aros' sh1t. I've even seen them getting it while it was just coming out and still stuck to the aro. They don't eat it all though because a LOT still gets into the sponges in my filter.

Even if a fish does eat it, that fish is still gonna sh1t so the waste's gonna end up in your tank anyway..

At Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, Tinfoild Barbs in the Asian Display eat off poop from their cohabitant Asian arowana. They compete to eat poop as it comes out of aro's anus As JardiniBoy says, poop eating fish will never break down toxic wastes nor make the water cleaner. Let the siphon and overkill filteration be your best friends.
