WHOA!!! EVERYONE LOOK AT THIS STRAIGHT FROM ASIA NEW!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
well whatever it is it is really beautiful but ofcourse not all creations of men are perfect so I am glad this turned out quite fine... I'm just sad for the other hybrids that didnt quite come out as this beauty

All dogs are the same species. The health problems associated with "pure breeds" comes from selective breeding for certain traits. That leads to inbreeding and a loss of genetic diversity and predisposition to certian health problems. Hybrids often do better, grow faster or get bigger, due to hybrid vigor. blah blah blah i need a beer

well said, and also hybrids are usually sterile. so if one gets introduced into the wild(don't even think about it), it will do one of two things, die because it is living in unsuitable conditions, live out it's life and never reproduce, or be caught and eaten by a hungry fisherman who could care less what kind of fish it is. mixing dog breeds is nowhere near the same as making a hybrid. you shouldn't worry about hybrids poluting the strain, they can't breed to begin with so it's impossible. You have about a 1 in 100,000 chance of a hybrid being fertile. Some may not want to hear this, but someone could argue that hybrids are better for our hobby, because of the low risk of alienization in foriegn waters, you are keeping the pure species in the wild where it belongs, and if properly bred hybrids grow bigger, faster, stronger, and have a stronger immune system than do pure strains. On the reverse if you breed fish with less dominate genes you get weeker slower growing hybrids that have almost no immune system! So say what you will about hybrids, but i believe they are here to stay. This is an attractive fish, it just happens to be overpriced. I personally would not buy it, but that's because I am a cat man, but if it makes you feel any better I have a oscar :D i have said my two cents now everyone please feel free to rip appart what I just said! lol. I love these debates. Oh, and for the record i am not lobbying for hybrids i keep both pure strains and hybrids in my collection. Hybrids don't know they are hybrids and are still living animals just the same. i say keep them and love them like any other!

Why is it everytime something new like this comes up. We have to get in the lame hate um or love um debate! I just put this thread up to share what was in my opinon a cool new looking fish! Also what someone said earlier is true thid IS a hybrid forum. So please people just say you like the fish or you don't, but shut your FACE about the hybrid mumbo jumbo;)
I will also add this:
You can or at least I can only keep one kind of fish so many times befor it just gets a little old. I don't know how many Jags I have kept in the past. So to me a REd one would be an interesting change ( I just would not pay that much money for one). Hybrids just give people more options (DON'T HATE):woot:
Hopefully this thread will get back on track:thumbsup:
