thanks for the comments. i do believe forgetting the prime, PLUS adding the meds was the problem. ive since done 2 water changes and it looks like everyone is doing o.k. now. i ended up losing 3 clown loaches and 1 ornatum.
This is why it's important to quarantine new fish.
The best ways to treat ich are with salt and raising the temps. But since you have loaches, salt isn't an option. I believe Coppersafe is ok to use with them combined with the high temps.
I agree with most of these posts. the loaches are more sensitive to meds and salt and would have been the first to go. as far as the cloudiness in the eyes could have been from over medicating. the copper treatment would be your safest bet with the loaches in your tank. i have gone thru some similiar expiriences over the last couple of weeks when i started adding new fish including loaches lol. it sucks and is stressful as soon as you notice it. but its easily cured and i too need to remember to quarentine my new fish. the only difference is i dont need to condition my water. good luck bro
