whoops! and a sexing question

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
We could only keep Colubrids ( and bvenomous through a loophole in the law ).
Even a ball python was forbidden.
Now we can keep Constrictors and other species, with the exclsuion of the ( I believe 9 or 10 big ones, such as the 5 big Pythons, Anaconda, RTB - was imposed on us due to public fear of RTB(?), and the big aussies, such as scrubs and Olivaceus ).

Venomous had a grandftahre clause negotiated but are now styrictly forbidden.

well thats some progression at least! hopefully things can only improve :)

As to Bloods my favorite still is the Breitensteini.

I bought a lot of them from the young guy at Bloodpythons UK. He then went to Autsralia to study as a vet ( forget his name )

and that would likely be Tom Bellamy your referring to.....he produced some lovely bloods! I am not sure but think he may well be back, and into them again.

Exactly !! Tom Bellamy!!!!!

Will always remember him with his back pack full of baby bloods in search for me in Ham or Houten!!:) Global village we live in!

the meanest sun of a gun blood i had was a cross BreitX brong produced by Thomas Rademacher in Germany.

The beast did everything possible to kill me. He escaped several times. ( never was I so near to divorce )

He actually jumped high in the air, when I opened his box to try to get at me. So stressed that baby was.....

I also had some from that Ondres(?something ) from the Czech Republic, who had awesome Emeralds. Know him?

lol yeah they are full of personality!! the ones I currently have are all very tame....but I did have a VERY close encounter with a big 5.5ft brongersmai I had years ago, almost getting me straight in the face!...that was one mean mumma! lol....

are you familar with our reptiles section at MFK?

Should stop by!

yeah I had a brief look, I`ll get on there and post some pics up....I did do a little thread on there a while ago but will do another :)

great news! I have sourced some buttikoferi....around 5-6inch but cant get to them as we have bad snow here at the moment grrrr!!! hopefully I can get there tomorrow...also they have a large texas cichlid there, so any tips on sexing texas cichlids would be greatly appreciated! with regards to the tilapia from what I know they are pretty much impossible to sex?...but even if the tilapia wasn`t male, would that matter too much to the mix?

First of i would like to add nice to see more snake lovers! Miguel: Great minds think alike old man! I had ball pythons, corns, sand boas, and a constrictor. Although when the pythons began breeding i gave them away before the female had her eggs :(

Anyways, op, texas can be super simple, the males might have a hump at a decent size, very long pointed fins and the females is easiest as they will display a dorsal spot. As for the butti im not sure but be aware the aggression of a butto at 5-6" can exceed a Young midas already. Watch carefully.

And yes seeing a adult discussion with civility is rare on any thread but recently this one has been the worst its ever been.
