I'm traveling to Mexico in the summer, and it will be my first time there. We are going to Cabo, so if you've been please share. My question however, is about customs. What is this like? What shouls I expect from this process? I have my passport, and I'm not planning to smuggle anything, so whats the "run of the mill" customs experience like?

You will see a lot of Canadians..LOL.. very friendly. A couple invited my wife and I to visit them if we were ever in Canada. Very friendly.

Go check out Cabo Wabo, do some snorkling, or better yet fishing =-)

Customs is not bad.

dont worry, they like visitors, they dont like illegal aliens, they dont want you to stay, all they want is your money.....

Is my passport all I need? I was reading somewhere that I needed a Mexico Tourist Card? Does anybody know anything about that?

Yea, when you arrive you have to pay like $10.00 or something if I can remember correctly. It's something you can pay for when you get their. Just more B/S to take your money..LOL

You need a permit from the Mexican government, we get it as soon as we drive over the border. The permit is free. The permit allows you to travel once you are 50 miles past the border. As long as you are in a border town you do not need a permit.

Have no idea how you would get one if you were flying in.

Bastards... took me for $10.00... I thought about for a sec because my wife is Mexican and she was able to pass and maybe because I was Asian they made me pay..I wanted to argue but did not feel like going to a Mexican jail on vacation =-(

You paid 100 pesos............could have bought beer with that money

Last time I was down there and went through customs they had a button you pressed and it randomly picked out screeners. It was weird, I know. BTW-you can get vicodin over the counter!
